FGC & Son Ltd

I was engaged by a Cornwall based Housing Association as an Interim Asset Manager from 2022 to 2023. My primary task was to deal with a backlog of surveys and remediation works to some 600 plus properties. Due to the timing of my appointment (Autumn), the in-house team was unable to deal with the new seasonal demand, or make an impression on the ‘backlog’.

I also worked as an interim Asset Surveyor for another Housing Association in Cornwall, where I used the services of FGC & Son Ltd, to great effect. 

Through the organisation's standing financial instructions, I appointed FGC and Sons Ltd to undertake Damp, Mould and Condensation (DMC) surveys across the Association's portfolio. FGC & Son Ltd, over twelve weeks, professionally and in an inclusive manner dealt with the backlog challenge whilst dealing with new requests. The subject knowledge exhibited was in-depth, extensive, and supported by demonstrable experience. The remediation works specified were practical, cost-effective, and tenant-friendly. FGC & Son Ltd, also offered Tenants practical advice on managing DMC challenges within their homes.

I would have no hesitation in using their services again should the need arise.

Mr Francis Chiverton has supported LRHA’s Property Maintenance Service with specialist surveying services for roofing issues and also damp, mould, and condensation issues (DMC). 

The service provided included devising detailed work specifications for remedial repairs and renewals. The resident feedback regarding the professional conduct of FGC & Sons Ltd has been excellent.
